PA-501
Start with your office connections, security services and expected traffic; ask us to validate the fit before choosing an entry model.
Get quote proposalA practical guide to the PA-501 through PA-560 models in this campaign: what to prepare, how to compare proposals and when to discuss a PoE design.
Get quote proposal ↗Compare & explore ↓A small office running cloud applications can have very different traffic from a branch moving large files or hosting local services. Write down your peak usage, inspection requirements, remote access needs and expected growth. Those details make a model comparison useful.
The manufacturer lists the PA-500 series for small organisations and branch offices. Selected models add PoE; do not treat PoE as a standard feature across this lineup. Confirm the exact interfaces and compatible accessories for your order.

Get quote proposalCheck the power design: unlike other listed PA-500 models, the PA-505 does not support dual power adapters.
Get quote proposalCompare the full security workload and port needs with PA-505; a higher model number alone is not a sizing decision.
Get quote proposalInclude branch uplinks, remote access and growth in the assessment. Ask for a licensed configuration matched to your site.
Get quote proposalBring measured peak traffic and inspection requirements when comparing this model with PA-520.
Get quote proposalConsider when the branch design needs PoE. Compare powered-device demand and fibre connections with PA-555-POE.
Get quote proposalAsk for a comparison against PA-560 using the same security services and traffic assumptions.
Get quote proposalCompare with PA-545-POE when additional PoE connections or 10Gbps-capable fibre interfaces are relevant.
Get quote proposalInclude forecast traffic, concurrent connections and operational headroom in the proposal request.
Get quote proposal| Decision | What to bring to the discussion |
|---|---|
| Security workload | Applications, threat-prevention services and encrypted traffic inspection requirements. Compare published figures using the same test conditions. |
| Connectivity | WAN links, copper and fibre port speeds, VPN links and any powered devices. Count the connections you actually need. |
| Resilience | Required uptime, high-availability design and power feeds. PA-505 is the exception to dual power-adapter support in this listed family; a second adapter for supported models is sold separately. |
| Operations | Who will administer policies, review logs, handle changes and own subscription renewals? Include these responsibilities in scope. |
Internet links, device count, remote users and which applications must keep working if a link drops. Branch sizing fails on device counts far more often than on bandwidth.
List which security subscriptions are included and their term. When they lapse the appliance keeps forwarding traffic with protections inactive, and nothing at the branch will tell you.
Confirm who attends, how the appliance is pre-staged, and how it is recovered remotely if a change goes wrong. This is the part that costs money at branch scale.
Tell us what you are planning. We will review the model, licensing and installation scope with you before preparing a proposal.
